Foreword
The rules that follow are neither exhaustive or all-inclusive. They will be updated as needed and reasonable notice will be given via the forums. The spirit of the rules are considered more important than the exact letter, and it is expected that an individual should be able to comprehend good faith. If ever in doubt, please contact the administrators via the forums or email. Genuine questions made in good faith will be held in high regard and respected.
I: The Mandate of Age:
ANY AND ALL USERS must be above the age of 18 to view and access platforms associated with MIDNIGHT ARRIVING. This is enforced regardless of specific country or regional law.
IN ADDITION, access is restricted to users who meet the minimum legal age for adult content in their country or region of residence. This is affirmed by users by accessing through the age gate, and in registering for accounts.
II: The Open Invitation Policy:
MIDNIGHT ARRIVING and associated tools and platforms are operated by a single administrator. Access to the aforementioned is provided through an “Open Invitation” policy, in which all comers are invited to participate within reason and good faith. This invitation is not an entitlement however, and should be respected in the same spirit as an invitation into a person's home. It can be rescinded at any time, should interaction consistently be within bad faith.
Acting in good faith, as well as respecting beyond the letter of extant rules, will afford a high amount of understanding and cooperation. It is okay to ask questions, provide constructive criticism, and formulate reasonable concern. Respectful treatment of the platform is key, as it is a result of personal labors and expenses.
III: The Mandate of Woke:
MIDNIGHT ARRIVING is NOT a platform accepting of racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, etc. Discrimination is not tolerated, even in tandem with belief system or creed, and will not be considered “excusable” in any circumstances. While utilizing this platform, you are to, at all times, respect your fellow roleplayers. Both in and out of character, MIDNIGHT ARRIVING is a place accepting of diverse belief, bodies, and expression. This is not a suggestion.
OOC Behavior
MIDNIGHT ARRIVING is a queer-owned, operated, and supported space. MIDNIGHT ARRIVING is a space accepting of all sexes, genders, races, sexual orientations, by design and intention. This is not a place for bigoted individuals. Basic courtesy is an expectation, regardless of either party's identity, but especially to those who experience discrimination in-person.
In addition, personal belief is NOT an excuse to hide bigotry. Furthermore, using your character as a mask for these beliefs is not tolerated.
IC Behavior
Within MIDNIGHT ARRIVING, the issue of biology and egalitarianism is solved within the Emergency Coalition. Furthermore, the dominant culture therein has militantly anti-supremacist leanings, not only normalizing a wide array of individuality, but enforcing the right to exist without threat. While antagonism regarding these things may be allowed, those who have been authorized to do so are held to expectations of OOC conduct and comfort measures.
In short, bigoted behavior is not at all the norm in-character. Multiculturalism and self-expressive methods are the norm. Roleplay accordingly.
IV: The Mandate of Consent and Communication:
WITHIN REASON, all parties must ensure that proper consent is garnered for actions. If a user is told 'NO' at any time, then any amount of convolution MUST be made to ensure that those wishes are respected. Coercion in ANY form is prohibited. There is NO CIRCUMSTANCE in which someone reporting these issues will face administrative action, unless there is a direct attempt at misleading administration in any way.
