+Individual dimensions within the Mirror itself. Typically, a person does not interact with the totality of the Mirror, and instead visit, or are visited by, agents of a given Shard. These pocket dimensions are living creatures in their own right, complete with a thriving ecosystem of Dwellers that do not obey the laws of material reality. Shards are beings of an unintelligible order, who act and plan in ways too long-term for many societies to properly study. Instead, they have to be observed through the behaviors of their environs and Dwellers.
