+The Kharguin often speak of apocrypha when considering their own history. It is believed, at least by those who follow such teachings, that the Kharguin are a species uplifted from an unknown planet. They were nurtured and brought into sentience in a very gentle manner. This species, often referred to as some variety of 'Progenitor'-like title, are often depicted as benevolent beings, who sacrificed themselves so that the Kharguin may slip into a strange dimension between worlds, and eventually find their way back out. It is through this belief, whether factual or otherwise, that a heavy emphasis is put on antagonizing and cleansing The Adversary and its effects: it is truly believed that this aggression is a means of attempting to liberate those who once helped them.

+Another point of contention is how the Kharguin ended up on their homeworld. While it can be confirmed that their biology is alien to the world they laid claim to, the oral history of their origin is hotly debated in academic circles. It is believed by the Kharguin that, after the sacrifice that allowed them to escape The Adversary, they were trapped in an 'endless pilgrimage', but in the traditional sense of interstellar travel. This event physically changed them, reportedly, and was only resolved when a seer sacrificed himself through ritualistic suicide. This event is unable to be proven, as the Kharguin lacked first-hand account recordkeeping beyond oral storytelling and history at that point. The earliest documents in the possession of Kharguin clans and academic institutions are indeed old, but are separated from this supposed event by multitudes of generations.
